3/13/20- It may be a while before anybody gets to see our crew in action. For now, our laughs together are contained within Zoom calls. Like most, we are waiting for a return to normalcy, if that is even possible after this coronavirus. The exact date and time is unknown, but at some point we will surely be able to use our certification "badge" for the first time!

There were many things I was looking forward to in the coming weeks, going on a mission trip, studying abroad, and just climbing with my team for fun since we had just earned the title of “certified” climber. Our team climbs had been such a good break from school life and now I miss being able to laugh with the others while doing a unique activity. Too bad we can’t rock climb via Zoom, but at least we can use it to still talk!

Not being able to climb was sad and quite strange. There were so many trained climbers each time we attended the OAC and I wonder how they are handling it. I was excited to have learned this new activity that it’s a bummer I wasn’t able to improve my skills anymore.

Not being able to climb after being certified feels like a slap in my face lol. Like I wish we could still be able to climb and go outside but no because of this virus everything is closed down for the moment. Also, for the people that worked there or people who were there all the time probably are more mad and disappointed than all of us. Another thing, just because we can’t climb anymore doesn’t mean that was the end of our friendship and I am glad that we still talk to each other.

I am so sad that we cannot climb anymore. Not only was I ready to build my climbing skills, I was ready to do it alongside the climbing crew. I wish we could still be meeting every night, laughing and honestly probably annoying everyone in the OAC. It’s cool to say I’m certified but it’s not cool that we can’t climb. Sad day.

Not going to lie I was very sad. I wanted to use Rock Climbing as a new workout for myself and I was excited to go back. When COVID hit and shut down the campus I was in disbelief because who knew a virus like this could shut down not only the Climbing Center but so many other things. Doing in home workouts just aren’t the same like going out and doing something physical for your body and being able to see other people and talk to other people.
